Candice Alley is a real life supermum as wife to swimmer Grant Hackett and mother of twins. In addition to these family roles, Candice is also a singer/songwriter. Candice is passionate about helping Australians overcome rising stress levels, and she believes that Magnesium can help.
We had a chat with Candice about her family and how she unwinds and avoids stress and anxiety in her own life:
How do you successfully juggle a career and family?
I think the key to juggling a career and family simultaneously is being lucky enough to have good family to help and support you.
You are a mother of twins, was it hard adjusting to life as an instant mum of two?
Definitely being that twins were my first! But you learn quickly and I have a great Mum who I’m still learning from!
How has your life changed?
My life has changed in every way! But certainly for the better. It makes you realise what’s most important in life.
You are currently discussing the rising stress levels among Australians, what do you think this is attributed to?
Definitely lifestyle and poor nutrition are components to the stress levels among Australians. In particular, work related stress and financial stress is something everyone goes through.
You recommend magnesium for anxiety, how can this help?
I’ve been taking Nutra-Life Organic Magnesium for some time now and it’s something I’d never want to be without being that it gives me a constant calming boost and energy on a daily basis. I think any mum can understand the importance of being focused and calm with children. Magnesium targets the central nervous system which for me results in feeling calm and energised which is a comfort knowing everyday will be manageable.
How do you like to unwind?
I like reading when it’s quiet before they wake up of a morning and Pilates has always been a great way to unwind at home for me. Something that always calms me is playing the piano and writing songs.
Are women more likely to be stressed than men, and if so, why do you think that is?
Maybe more so I’d say because of our hormones as females, but I still believe all is manageable if we’re aware of our deficiencies and support our bodies with the right supplements and for me Nutra-Life Organic Magnesium definitely suits my needs.
What are your tips for a happy, stress free marriage?
Relax and communicate as much as possible. When things get so busy we really look forward to the simple things like watching a DVD at home and eating together!
Do you think it is important for mums to have time to themselves?
Definitely. Even just 20 mins in the quiet is a rarity now! But it’s important to grab an hour here or there to do something for yourself.
Do you plan to have more children?
I think I’m the luckiest mum getting a boy and girl in the one shot!
What’s next for Candice Alley?
More music to be heard and more songs to be written.
