There is a new option available to eco friendly mums with the Australian launch of Jackson Reece Organic Baby Wipes.
Naturally gentle on sensitive young skin, they contain certified organic ingredients including:
- Certified Organic Aloe Vera – Aloe Vera is commonly used to treat sunburn, and its hydrating, healing and cooling abilities are ideal for little red bottoms and nappy rash.
- Certified Organic Tea Tree Oil – This works to fight bacteria, gently and naturally.
- Certified Organic Lavender Essential Oil – Soothes and calms the nappy area.
They contain high purity water and the preservatives used are vegetable based.
The company uses renewable natural plant resources so the preservative system will appeal to not only the environmentally conscious, but vegans too. And, of course, they are not tested on animals.
99.9% of the ingredients are derived from vegetable or plant extracts and they are 100% biodegradable and compostable…even the packaging is degradable.
There are three types available, the unscented wipes which are my favourite, the scented wipes and the flushable wipes which won’t block your toilet and will will bio-degrade in 8 days in a regular sewerage system.
pH balanced and allergen free, these would be a good option for sensitive skin and conditions such as eczema.
These wipes are a good thickness and fairly strong so you don’t need to use the whole pack at once.
There is a huge list of ingredients that Jackson Reece wipes do not contain: alcohol, parabens, phenoxyethanol, triclosan, petro chemicals, lanolin, SLS, soap, benzoates, phthalates, methylisothiazolinone and propylene glycol (some big words there, the explanations can be found on their website if you are inclined to find out more)
Another suggested use for these wipes is for removing makeup – and I can imagine they would also be good for a quick freshening up if you are out camping or travelling!
Jackson Reece Scented and Unscented Wipes come in a pack of 72, with an RRP of $7.95 per pack.
Jackson Reece Flusable Wipes come in a 10 pack with an RRP of $2.95 per pack.
The brand is distributed in Australia (they are made in the UK) exclusively by Ethman Enterprises, you can find a list of stockists at: www.ethman.com.au
These wipes are a little more expensive than others on the market, would you be willing to pay the extra price for the environmental and health benefits?
